Spain – September 2021
01
Alhambra
The ancient Roman fortress turned into the royal palace for the Sultan of Granada and later the King of Spain and is now the most significant piece of Moorish architecture in the country. The gardens and palaces are truly marvelous and definitely worth a visit of a couple hours.

02
Albaicín & Sacromonte
This is the oldest quarter of Granada located on the hill opposite of the Alhambra (which makes it a great photo location. Mostly steep, winding, cobblestoned streets are lined with pretty white houses. And if you make it all the way to the back of the valley, you reach the cave houses of Sacromonte: Birthplace of Flamenco!

03
Streets of Realejo & Centro
Realejo is the old Jewish quarter, while Centro is where you can find lots of churches. Both are buzzing with people at any time of the day and really make the city feel alive. While there sure are a lot of tourists during summertime, you also see older Spanish people sitting in cafés or on park benches and local students enjoying their time off.

04
Tapas
One of the explanations for reason #3 is the food. It’s good & cheap! There are restaurants everywhere, but what Granada is most famous for are the countless Tapas bars. You find them in every neighbourhood and if you order a drink, most of the time you get a tapa for free!
