This story is about an awesome Swiss Start-Up called “surp.travel”. They are not your common travel agency. They are specialized in surprise city trips in Europe. My friend Kim and I went on the website, put in the departure airport and travel dates, and then had to wait for the orange envelope with the tickets to be sent to us. Sailing from Panama to Colombia

And which place is better than the south western most main island Kyushu. It’s two big and still active volcanoes Aso & Sakurajima fuel the many hot spring resorts.

Adventure is calling in Ecuador! After enjoying Quito’s bustling city life, the Mekka for outdoor enthusiasts is awaiting.
How I won 5kg of rice
The “Guesthouse Ruco” is to this day one of my favorite hostels. Not only because of the combination of the artsy café on the ground floor and the typically Japanese combination of practicality and simple design; but also because of the people I met there.
Making friends while traveling solo
One way or another you always meet people to share a story, a meal, a room, an adventure or even a part of your journey with. Some become these social media friends who’s live you watch unfold through Facebook posts and Instagram stories, but never meet again in real life. And sometimes these people turn into friends you stay in touch with for the years to come. One of the places I made friends like the latter, was Ecuador.
