Japan’s greatest treasure

Though I got to see the snow monkeys during my first trip to Japan in 2018, I did not manage to jump in to the “Onsen” myself. Tattoo issues and hangovers successfully prevented Tina & I from visiting the public baths. So when I went back to Japan in 2019, I was determined to make it happen. And which place is better than the south western most main island Kyushu. It’s two big and still active volcanoes Aso & Sakurajima fuel the many hot spring resorts.

Making friends while traveling solo

One way or another you always meet people to share a story, a meal, a room, an adventure or even a part of your journey with. Some become these social media friends who’s live you watch unfold through Facebook posts and Instagram stories, but never meet again in real life. And sometimes these people turn into friends you stay in touch with for the years to come. One of the places I made friends like the latter, was Ecuador.
